History
In October 2009, I decided to resume writing Science Fiction stories after several years of interruption. The first story I wrote was "Kyle 7".
On October 13, I submitted the story to
Andromeda Spaceways Inflight
Magazine (ASIM), based in Canberra.
It was rejected after passing two
selections and after having been held for possible publication for 120 days.
Basically, they liked the story but couldn't find an appropriate place for
it in their magazine.
On the next day, 2010-02-11, I submitted the story to Flash Fiction Online, an American webzine. They rejected it after twenty-three days.
Within a few days, I submitted it to the journal
Nature.
They publish a single flash story in every weekly issue and it was a long
shot.
To my surprise and delight,
I received an email of acceptance within less than seven hours.
It is true
what they say: if you hit the right market, things roll forward quickly!
